The Audio tour is the result of the collaboration of Maria Nymfiadi and Ann-Marie Peña. It is a site-specific project based at the building of Central Saint Martins School of Art and Design, which is at Charing Cross Road in London. The Audio tour started out as an interview of the artists who took part at the ma show. The artists replied to questions regarding the space where they exhibited and their relation with it. The project was later enriched with interviews-conducted tours of former students, employees at the school and the ma fine art course director Joanna Greenhill. The aim of the Audio tour was not to inform the visitors of the exhibition about its content but to tour them through different historical levels and personal experiences at the space of a School of Fine Arts at the centre of London.
A selection of the initial material duration of 00:38:28:03 is being presented here.

Carlos Slazenger - Dark Side of the Tune 1 (59:20)
The English deejay who curates an ever expanding archive of outsider exotica, incredibly strange rock'n'roll and pop disasters, has made programmes for resonance fm and has played live sets in London and Athens (solo and as part of Non-Stop Hits). Disillusioned with bland mainstream pop and colour supplement sponsored cute punk he finds his music on the outskirts of culture, trawling junk shops, car boot sales & markets looking for unwanted and unloved recordings.

Christian Jendreiko -
Introduction EMANATIONS (1:38) , Emanations (51:51)
The inspiration for the sound-piece EMANATIONS was taken from a crossroad in Dusseldorf. While he was waiting for a tram, he was watching the people passing by, either walking or driving, appearing and vanishing, and listening to the sound they were producing doing so… |
